About the role

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for receiving, labeling, and storing samples, performing analytical tests, recording and reporting results, and ensuring product quality meets required specifications. The role also involves maintaining accurate records and troubleshooting equipment at our Waynesboro, MS facility.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and conduct chemical experiments using various lab equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations when handling chemicals and substances.
  • Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Receive, label, and safely store samples to be tested.
  • Determine and perform tests needed for analysis and report results.
  • Record tests, analysis, and findings; maintain equipment records and daily work logs.
  • Organize and store samples in accordance with safety and integrity requirements.
  • Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment, including recalibration to ensure continuous operation.
  • Collect and analyze data from experiments and record findings.
  • Stay current on technical and scientific advances in the field.

Requirements

  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency in basic math functions: addition, subtraction, division, percentages, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions on various testing procedures.
  • Must attend orientation and training on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift.
  • Ability and willingness to work shift work, overtime, and weekend hours if needed.
  • Proficient in English with strong reading, writing, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to work in a team or unsupervised environment while maintaining accountability.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong time management skills to ensure timely job performance.
  • Adherence to Sipcam Agro Solutions safety procedures.
  • Basic understanding of computer and software usage.
  • Wear required PPE throughout your shift.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree in chemistry or science (preferred).
  • Prior lab experience (preferred).
  • One year of related work experience in manufacturing (preferred).

Physical Demands

  • Stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms during the workday.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in a controlled environment as well as in various temperatures and conditions.
