Quality Lab Technician-2nd shift
About the role
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Lab Technician is responsible for performing material analysis using Met Lab equipment, all metallurgical sample preparation steps, including sectioning, mounting, grinding, and polishing, Rockwell Hardness measurements, using various scales and cylindrical corrections, when applicable, microhardness measurements using automatic microhardness testers, assisting with cross sectional microstructure analysis, using optical microscopes, assisting with heat treat quality evaluations per part drawing requirements, assisting with periodic maintenance of the QC lab equipment, specification sign off per customer requirements, providing quality inspections and audits on the plant floor, and assisting with Corrective Action and "hold" batches.
Responsibilities
- Sunday through Thursday 300 pm to 1130 pm
- Training will be on first shift for approximately 5 months Mon-Fri 7 am to 330 pm
Requirements
- A high school education or equivalent
- Basic math comprehension skills
- Experience working in a quality lab is not required; however, a genuine motivation and eagerness to learn is
- Excellent communication skills
- An analytical approach to problem solving
