Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute incoming quality control (IQC) inspections on a variety of electronic and mechanical components, raw materials, and sub-assemblies according to established procedures, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Utilize various inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, multimeters, optical comparators, and other specialized test equipment.
  • Interpret and verify technical drawings, specifications, and data sheets to ensure compliance of incoming materials.
  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly in Jabil's quality management system (QMS) and relevant databases.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming materials, initiating proper disposition procedures and collaborating with engineering and supplier quality teams.
  • Generate detailed non-conformance reports (NCRs) and assist in root cause analysis for recurring quality issues.
  • Perform first article inspections (FAI) as required for new components or supplier changes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area, ensuring proper calibration and functionality of all inspection equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and Jabil's quality management system (QMS) requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to IQC processes and supplier quality.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams (production, engineering, purchasing) and external suppliers regarding quality issues.

Job Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., electronics, manufacturing technology) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality control, particularly in an incoming quality inspection (IQC) role within an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications (e.g., GD&T).
  • Demonstrated experience using various precision measuring tools and test equipment.
  • A strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies.
  • The ability to accurately document inspection results and generate clear, concise reports.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work the 403 shift schedule (e.g., 4 days on, 3 days off, potentially including weekends and evenings).
