Quality inspector Specialist

About the role
Leidos Defense Sector / Manufacturing provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support. Our team is solving the world’s toughest security challenges for customers with “can’t fail” missions.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming components and assembled parts.
- Check documentation for accuracy.
- Read and understand assembly instructions, drawings, and technical data packages.
- Write Non-conformance reports and start investigations to determine root cause.
- Lead or participate in 5S activities.
Requirements
- TS/SCI Clearance.
- High School diploma/GED with 3-5 years of relevant Quality Inspection experience.
- 2+ years of JAVA experience.
- Experience in leading operations or teams in completing tasks.
- Ability to solve complex problems, collaborate with team members, and communicate with all levels of management.
- Knowledge and understanding of reading and interpreting drawings.
- Proficiency in using micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, radius gages, and calipers.
- Experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
- Ability to populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
- Ability to work full-time with minimal supervision and adjust priorities based on workflow.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites to perform quality inspections.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
- US Citizen; must possess or be able to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with drawing interpretation (both Electrical and Mechanical).
- Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations.
- IPC 610/620 certified.
- J-STD certified.
Pay
Pay Range: $50,700.00 - $91,650.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
