About the role

The Quality Inspector at American Hydro is responsible for ensuring that all products and materials meet the company's requirements through rigorous inspection and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Measure objects against their intended physical specifications
  • Run quality tests and identify defects
  • Provide inspection results to engineering regarding the form and fit of manufactured products
  • Manage the gage calibration system for shop tools and gages
  • Dimensionally inspect incoming parts and fabricated/machined items
  • Conduct non-destructive testing including Visual, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, and Ultrasonic testing
  • Prepare and file associated documentation and records
  • Sign-off on relevant Inspection and Test Plans
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, finished parts, and assemblies
  • Inspect received parts for functional, dimensional, and surface quality
  • Monitor and assist with gauge calibration program
  • Document nonconforming material conditions
  • Perform audits of processes, personnel, and products
  • Perform non-destructive testing and evaluate results according to applicable standards
  • Absorb and maintain non-destructive testing personnel qualifications to SNT-TC-1A Level II or higher
  • Provide accurate, legible, and complete documentation of inspection and test results
  • Aid manufacturing by training personnel on interpreting and evaluating acceptance criteria
  • May require overnight travel for source inspections (domestic and/or international)

Development Responsibilities

  • Improve the Quality Culture within the American Hydro Team
  • Support production personnel on quality-related issues
  • Understand and support the importance of record-keeping and documentation

Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements
  • Experience with Intelex or similar Quality Management System Software
  • Proven experience in a quality role

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma (or GED) or 3-6 months of related experience and training
  • NDT Level II certification preferred
