About the role

The Quality Inspector – Level 2 is an intermediate-level inspector who can fully perform the duties of a Level 1 inspector and additionally read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering documentation, applying advanced knowledge of manual tools. This role involves a wide range of inspection activities, including machined parts, assemblies, raw material, heat treat, and outside processing.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM (shift differential of $2.50/hr).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect fastener installation, sealant, raw material, machine parts, bushings, bearings, and standards
  • Inspect simple assemblies and outside processing (NDT, finishes, finish coatings, thermal processing, etc.)
  • Document FAI reports
  • Document non-conformances
  • Occasionally perform special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to be certified in Hardness and Eddy Current, Sealant, Bushing, and bearing installation
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Experienced in reading and correctly interpreting complex blueprints and engineering requirements
  • Experience applying shop math skills such as trigonometry, calculating dimensions, and setting sine plates
  • Basic understanding of BQMS (Business Quality Management System) processes and procedures
  • Basic understanding of machine shop and aerospace assembly terminology and nomenclature
  • Fully experienced with all basic and advanced manual inspection tools
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and write simple correspondence
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to read and understand technical and engineering material and communicate effectively with coworkers
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive focus and earnest approach in meeting responsibilities and goals

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent education.
