Quality Inspector III - Microelectronics
This is a full-time, onsite position requiring consistent in-person collaboration. Work will be conducted at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
About the role
In this Quality Inspector III role, you will perform In-Process and Final Inspection operations on microwave modules using a microscope for the majority of the workday. You will inspect moderate to complex assemblies and subassemblies to ensure compliance with applicable quality specifications and standards, working from blueprints, diagrams, regulatory and BAE specifications, drawings, or inspection instructions and checklists. You may monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
You will receive intense training to become a certified inspector utilizing MIL-STD-883 criteria to inspect microwave modules, including MMICs, resistors, diodes, caps, substrates, and all bonding types (gold wire and ribbon).
Schedule
1st shift, 4-day workweek (Monday–Thursday), 10-hour days (5:00 AM – 3:30 PM).
Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections of moderate to complex assemblies and subassemblies using predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications.
- Inspect microwave modules in accordance with MIL-STD-883, including MMICs, resistors, diodes, caps, substrates, and bonding types (gold wire and ribbon).
- Work from blueprints, diagrams, regulatory and BAE specifications, drawings, or inspection instructions and checklists.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- Document non-conformances in Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Interface with engineering regarding technical issues, process changes, and improvements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1–2+ years of inspection experience.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; English literacy required.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Capable of utilizing a microscope for the majority of the workday.
- Computer literate, able to navigate Microsoft Office and production-related software.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Experience inspecting microelectronic devices in accordance with military specifications like MIL-STD-883 and IPC-A-610.
- Minimum of 2 years inspecting electronic devices in accordance with written specifications.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems and audit procedures.
- Ability to read assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs, ECOs, process sheets, and related documentation.
- Experience tracking factory hardware and documenting non-conformances.
- Understanding of AS9102 requirements.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $57,319 – $91,710. Individual salaries are determined by factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
