Quality Inspector III - 2nd Shift

About the role

This position is directly involved in the inspection of product after final processing. The role requires setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC-controlled machine tools to perform programmed operations using provided programs and tool layouts.

Responsibilities

• Procure samples for dimensional inspection of aerospace parts to ensure conformity to customer drawing requirements.
• Review customer drawings and measure parts using calibration gages such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, Keyence IM, drop gages, height gages, and Go/No-Go gages.
• Use precision inspection tools and equipment, read blueprints, and follow procedures to ensure product acceptance to specifications.
• Perform other inspections, including creating non-conforming material reports, receiving inspection, and reviewing third-party certificates of conformance.
• Perform sampling plans per customer requirements, including dimensional, visual, and receiving inspections.
• Review third-party certification of compliance documentation.
• Support quality in the recall of gages and tools.
• Review manufacturing routers and prepare quality documentation, including dimensional inspection reports, logbooks, and non-conformance reports.
• Use hand tooling such as micrometers, microscopes, calipers, and thread gages.
• Apply sampling plans, drawings, work instructions, industry standards, and specifications to verify product conformance.
• Perform basic computer tasks, including entering and accessing databases and spreadsheets.
• Other duties as part of cross-training or employee development.

Requirements

• Three years of related quality experience or training in accordance with the defined skills training matrix progression; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience as a Quality Inspector.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and computation of rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Work Environment

• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Moderate noise level, with occasional loud environments requiring hearing protection.
• Work schedule: 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, with overtime as needed.
• Position is on the 2nd shift.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $21.91–$37.25 per hour.
