Quality Inspector II on 2nd Shift

About the role

Your Job Smiths Interconnect is a Molex company seeking a Quality Inspector for 2nd shift at our Irving TX plant. The role involves inspecting parts according to design tolerances to ensure product quality before manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Inspect new parts from internal and external suppliers promptly with minimal supervision.
• Identify and report defects to the Quality Supervisor.
• Collaborate with the Quality Supervisor to prioritize inspections and meet daily inspection needs.
• Report non-conforming materials to the Quality Control Supervisor.
• Understand and interpret engineering technical drawings.
• Communicate effectively through written and verbal means.
• Solve problems and have a background in quality assurance.
• Use inspection tools such as scopes, calipers, micrometers, and microscopes.
• Organize products for MicroVu queues.
• Issue DMRs for failed products.
• Document failure issues requiring engineering/tooling attention.

Qualifications

• Time management skills.
• Adaptable to a changing work environment.
• Attention to detail and focus on assignments.
• Knowledge of reading engineering technical drawings.
• Effective English communication skills, including writing.
• Good problem-solving and quality background preferred.
• Knowledge of inspection tools and ability to focus for extended periods.
• Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Able to work weekends as needed.
