About the role
LISI AEROSPACE is seeking a Quality Technician II to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our products, services, and operations meet the established customer standards.
Responsibilities
- Conducts thorough inspections of semi-finished components, including bolt blanks, washers, internally and externally threaded fasteners, and raw materials, to ensure compliance with customer specifications and production drawings.
- Inspects precision machined components and sub-assemblies for adherence to predetermined mechanical standards, specifications, and tolerances according to company quality procedures, production drawings, and industry standards.
- Maintains inspection reports and records inspection data on approved forms.
- Able to use precision measuring equipment and perform detailed dimensional inspections as required.
- Coordinates inspection activities with leads and employees in the area where work is being performed.
- Reads and comprehends blueprints. Determines methods of inspection and coordinates with leads to ensure accurate and timely completion of inspections.
- Reviews calibration certifications according to quality procedures and purchase order requirements.
- Develops first article inspection documents and creates inspection reports per quality procedures.
- Assists the compliance team in reviewing final inspection documentation.
- Scans paperwork, files, and performs data entry as needed.
- Adheres to and implements all company HSE policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ensures compliance with federal, local, and state government regulations, LISI Aerospace policies, and HSE procedures.
- Identifies and reports any known or suspected nonconformities to management immediately.
- Continuously seeks opportunities to improve HSE performance by establishing objectives, measuring progress, and reporting results.
- Suggests waste elimination initiatives, focusing on recycling opportunities and reducing paper waste.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum 3-5 years of metallurgical or physical laboratory experience.
- Understanding of test equipment and lab procedures.
- Completion of college level mathematics, metallographic, or mechanical engineering preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including mainframe computer systems, spreadsheet, word processing software, and database systems.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
