Purpose and Scope

Primarily responsible for the validation of all products produced from manufacturing and assembly processes, in‑process auditing of manufacturing and assembly operations in accordance with ISO‑9001, proper use and maintenance of measurement tools and equipment.

Essential Functions

• Perform qualifying inspections of internally and externally manufactured/modified products to ensure they meet defined design requirements.
• Inspect and test manufactured assemblies for conformance to design, configuration requirements, and processing certificates of compliance.
• Identify and report non‑conformances of product or processes.
• Conduct in‑process performance and ISO surveillance audits to ensure documented procedures are followed.
• Perform advanced inspections including PPAP, weld inspections, and CMM inspections.
• Provide support for corrective action investigations.
• Manage quality system functions such as MRB review, gage management, and documentation control.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Either:
  • Three (3) years of experience in a Quality Assurance role as an Inspector, Auditor, or Technician and two (2) certifications or degree from the preferred certification list; or
  • Five (5) years of experience in a Quality Assurance role and one (1) certification or degree from the preferred certification list; or
  • Ten (10) years of experience in a Quality Assurance role as an Inspector, Auditor, or Technician.
• Extensive knowledge of quality control practices.
• Ability to properly use measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, including GD&T and AWS weld symbology.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Mathematical knowledge including basic trigonometry, geometry, statistics (SPC), and basic problem‑solving skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Certified Quality Inspector, Technician, Auditor, or Calibration Technician.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality system standards, corrective action, PPAP, and discrepant material management.
• Experience in metrology, calibration, and SPC analysis.
• Working knowledge of creating and editing CMM inspection programs.
• Experience participating in or leading continuous improvement events (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen).

Work Conditions & Physical Environment

Duties are performed in an industrial environment. The employee is constantly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; twist; bend; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent walking is required. The employee must constantly lift, carry, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, vibration, and potentially toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise levels are usually very loud. This position is designated as safety‑sensitive.
