Quality Inspector II

Responsibilities

• Follow established work instructions and company procedures to ensure safe, quality production.
• Set up tool registers, mills, lathes, drills, Bridgeport, switches, offsets, and intermediate programming of CNC computerized equipment for defined runs with limited supervision or assistance.
• Run and set up Swiss tool machines and twin spindle lathes.
• Run and set up pallet changers, horizontal mills, and vertical mills.
• Perform routine machinery maintenance and run visual tests on broken or worn parts while keeping inventory of machine replacement parts.
• Understand production flow and how your production affects plant metrics and customers.
• Interpret blueprints, including title block GD&T, and determine key and critical characteristics.
• Utilize calipers, gauges, indicators, micrometers, and other hand tools related to the occupation.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines in the assembly process.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Cross-train on other equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Certificate in machine shop technology or technology/machinist (preferred associate degree).
• 2-3 years of experience in a machining environment beyond post-secondary or trade school education.
• Recognized apprenticeship may be required.
