Job Description
Quality Inspector | Now Hiring | Corsicana, TX
- Compensation: Starting rate $19.79-$22.63/hour, $1.50 shift differential
- Shifts Available: Nights 7pm-7am, rotating shifts
Safety
- Seek to understand and support a safety culture and workplace.
- Remain aware of surroundings and obtain knowledge of all required PPE for the job.
- Follow all required safety procedures for each task you do.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Immediately address and escalate any safety concern, risk, hazard, near miss, or injury immediately to the appropriate supervision on shift.
- Help support incident report management.
- Assist with monthly safety engagements.
Quality
- Understand and continuously help improve Quality Culture in the workplace.
- Assist inspecting product for defects and dimensional standards required by the customer.
- Conduct customer required functionality testing.
- Validate we are using correct packaging and labels.
- Validate finished goods are being packed into correct configuration.
- Report any concerns on quality of product immediately to appropriate supervision on shift.
- Conduct mid and end of shift reports, scrap request and informative emails.
- Contain product that does not meet customers specifications.
- Measure product quality using statistical methods, control charting, and process improvement techniques.
- Inspect cups, lids, printed cups, undercut trays, hinged trays, platter trays, foam plates, bowls and hinged trays for defects including visual, functionality and dimensional aspects to the customers’ requirements.
- Use measurement equipment to ensure product meets customer specifications.
- Notify operator of defects and closely monitor product until corrected.
- Place on hold or reject defective product that does not meet quality specifications.
- Prepare appropriate hold/reject paperwork.
- Check for other customer quality requirements.
- Follow all quality procedures as outlined by management and accurately complete all required paperwork pertaining to these procedures.
- Maintain works area in a safe manner.
- Must be detailed on critical findings when escalating to production.
Skills
- Perform basic Quality training to new packers and operators per Procedures and Skills Book.
- Follow all quality procedures outlined by management and accurately complete all required paperwork pertaining to these procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred.
- Ability to perform simple calculations (addition, subtraction, Multiplication, Division) and apply good mathematical reasoning.
- Ability to read graphs for Data analysis.
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to be flexible with changes that may occur with job tasks, procedures or customer requirements.
- Must be able to effectively communicate (verbal/written) with various levels with the facility.
- Basic computer systems knowledge (Windows, Word, Excel).
- SAP, PowerPoint a plus.
- Experience with AIB or BRC quality systems a plus.
- Experience in a GFCI certification environment a plus.
- Other job duties assigned by team leader.
- Flexibility to work overtime and off shifts as needed.
- Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours due to the nature of the work.
- Must be able to wear the required PPE to enter the plant/complete the tasks.
