Quality Inspector

Full-time position supporting production and testing of manufactured goods alongside other QA personnel. The Quality Inspector will utilize basic mechanical inspection tools and gauges to maintain product line quality.

Responsibilities

• Assurance of material criteria establishment.
• Inspect incoming raw materials and components for conformance; verify traceability to existing inspection plans, customer/VMC drawings, sales, and purchase orders.
• Initiate and manage the MRB (Material Review Board) process.
• In-process product inspection:
  • Inspect product integrity relative to order dimensions, components, color, etc.
  • Randomly sample ‘in-process product’ to ensure specifications and dimensional checks.
  • Identify and document products that do not meet quality specifications.
  • Complete reports and logs; summarize re-work and waste.
• Final product inspection:
  • Ensure final product meets specific customer order requirements.
  • Review and sign off on the traveler or work order to release product to shipping.
  • Collect quality data for accept and reject rates across all areas.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
• Working knowledge of gauge calibration and ability to use calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply knowledge to product inspection.
• Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 symbology.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of experience in a mechanical inspection environment.
• Experience with ISO 9001 is a plus.
