About the Role
This position involves two levels of inspection responsibilities. Level I Inspectors perform foundational quality assurance tasks, while Level II Inspectors take on advanced inspection duties and mentor Level I team members.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all internal and external documentation used for inspection is current.
- Accurately record inspection activities using the Company’s ERP system.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly prints.
- Perform inspections using handheld gages such as calipers, micrometers, and scales.
- Conduct final checks to ensure assemblies and detail parts are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and non-conformance issues.
- Accurately populate quality assurance documentation using industry terms and definitions.
- Assist in Return Material Authorization (RMA) and Material Rejection Report (MRR) processes using Syteline to ensure timely resolution.
- Perform PCD Audits, document results, and communicate findings.
- Participate in 3rd Party audits as necessary.
- Handle customer-supplied products with care.
- Maintain and reinforce ORIZON’s quality standards to meet customer expectations.
- Manage time effectively and respond quickly to inquiries to meet production, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes to establish and correct true causes of issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing improvements.
- Assist the Material Review Board (MRB) by clearly identifying and placing nonconforming products in the MRB cage.
- Maintain an “Ultra C-Lean” working environment by following proper work procedures, ensuring a clean work area, and confirming tool inventory accuracy at the start and end of each shift.
- Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to safety officials or Quality Supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Level II Additional Responsibilities
- Perform all duties associated with a Level I Inspector.
- Conduct inspections using laboratory-grade equipment (e.g., CMMs, Scanners, Optical Comparators, Surface Analyzers).
- Enter data and complete First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports using Net-Inspect.
- Create and complete RMA and MRR processes using Syteline.
- Capture data and images to create PowerPoint presentations identifying non-conformances.
- Train Level I Inspectors on inspection techniques and troubleshooting using laboratory-grade equipment.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience using handheld gages (calipers, micrometers, scales) and laboratory-grade equipment (CMMs, Optical Comparators, etc.).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Syteline) and inspection software (e.g., Net-Inspect).
- Strong documentation skills using industry-standard terms and definitions.
- Ability to participate in audits, RCCA processes, and process improvement initiatives.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
