About the role
We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our dynamic team at Arc Boat Company's Los Angeles headquarters. Reporting to the Manager of Quality Engineering, you will be part of a lean, high-trust team focused on ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our production processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections of composite (carbon & fiberglass) structures, metallic components, integrated boats and sub-assemblies.
- Conduct First Article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure adherence to engineering drawings and quality standards.
- Document inspection results and non-conformances quickly & accurately in the quality management system.
- Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions.
- Verify that all work instructions and documentation are completed correctly before releasing parts to the next stage of production.
- Contribute to improving workshop standards, inspection protocols, and quality processes.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and output.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Inspector or in a comparable quality control role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Hands-on experience inspecting composite materials, including carbon fiber and fiberglass structures, in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), work instructions, and product data sheets.
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to identify cosmetic and structural defects in composite surfaces and assembled components.
- Physical ability to stand extended periods (6-10 hours per day) and lift or move materials up to 50lbs.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to document and communicate quality issues to technicians and engineers.
Bonus Qualifications
