Responsibilities

  • Conduct the final quality check on all Hoosier Gasket products before shipment to customers.
  • Use measuring equipment correctly and with consistent accuracy, including:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Mylar overlays
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Record quality data accurately on required forms and documents.
  • Reject parts that do not meet quality criteria and send them back for re-inspection.
  • Assist in preparing parts that passed final inspection for shipment, following customer and HGC guidelines.
  • Support other QA duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties at varying levels of proficiency as assigned.
  • Follow safety rules and guidelines at all times.
  • Foster strong relationships across departments to promote collaboration, peer development, and organizational growth.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
  • Mentor new employees as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous QA and inspection experience in a manufacturing setting (preferred).

Skills

  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages.

  • Data entry skills.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting for long periods: 5-10 hours per day.
  • Standing for long periods: 5-10 hours per day.
  • Walking for long periods: 1-5 hours per day.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl: Occasionally.
  • Push, pull, twist, reach, and engage in rapid reflex movements.
  • Occasionally lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasionally climb or use a ladder.

Environmental Conditions

Fast-paced, deadline-oriented manufacturing plant and office. Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and airborne particles. Use of heavy machinery, hand tools, or power tools. Work with or near dry ice, CO2 gas, and/or silicone. Required to wear protective clothing and equipment. May work in areas of extreme heat.

Pay

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Location

On-site in Indianapolis (Martindale-Brightwood area).
