Quality Inspector

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the project quality program as appropriate.
• Conduct welder performance qualification testing and document tests.
• Establish and maintain quality and related documentation in support of the implemented program.
• Perform inspection to assure the quality of the work is in conformance with the project quality program and specifications.
• Locally coordinate quality activities with the Owner and Authorized Inspection agency.
• Maintain close coordination and communication with the Site Quality Manager.
• Support the development of work and test package preparation.
• Work as a team player to support product realization.
• Coincide with subcontractors and Third Party Inspection & Testing Companies.
• Maintain control and issuance of welding electrodes.
• Sustain nonconformance reporting.

Requirements

• A proven track record performing all responsibilities as detailed above.
• A current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
• Willingness to travel or relocate to the project site for the duration of the project, which is projected to be 10-12 months.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a quality representative in a heavy industrial setting.
• Experience working in a union environment.
• Strong computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel); strong report writing skills required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills required.
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and interact with client representatives, project managers, and superintendents required.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and make creative recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
