Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the project quality program as appropriate.
- Conduct welder performance qualification testing and document tests.
- Establish and maintain quality and related documentation in support of the implemented program.
- Perform inspection to assure the quality of the work is in conformance with the project quality program and specifications.
- Locally coordinate quality activities with the Owner and Authorized Inspection agency.
- Maintain close coordination and communication with the Site Quality Manager.
- Support the development of work and test package preparation.
- Work as a team player to support product realization.
- Coincide with subcontractors and Third Party Inspection & Testing Companies.
- Maintain control and issuance of welding electrodes.
- Sustain nonconformance reporting.
Requirements
- A proven track record performing all responsibilities as detailed above.
- A current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
- Willingness to travel or relocate to the project site for the duration of the project, which is projected to be 10-12 months.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a quality representative in a heavy industrial setting.
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Strong computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel); strong report writing skills required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills required.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and interact with client representatives, project managers, and superintendents required.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and make creative recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
