About the role

The Quality Inspector ensures products meet specified quality standards before distribution by performing mechanical and visual receiving/shipping inspections on hardware, fasteners, fabrications, and electrical products of varying complexity. This fast-paced role requires strong attention to detail and reports to the Quality Control Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies quantity and description of materials received by checking product against the packing list.
  • Documents, tags, controls, and segregates product in accordance with established procedures.
  • Uses controlled stamp to indicate product acceptance and certificate accuracy.
  • Performs AQL sample lot inspections of drawing characteristics.
  • Inspects inbound & outbound materials for conformance, supplier documentation, and manufacture/special process certifications.
  • Supports internal and external ISO audits to initiate discrepancy reports and hold notices.
  • Manages QC equipment for 3rd party calibration and Non-Conforming Material Receipt (NCMR) Cage Management.
  • Follows quality processes, ISO facility internal procurement clauses, and internal work instructions to review & interpret customer requirements and supplier quality documentation.
  • Scans supplier packing slips, receiving documents, and necessary paperwork into MetaViewer.
  • Receives material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
  • Assists warehouse and/or production team members as needed.
  • Processes paperwork for UPS shipments, verifying merchandise, applying correct postage, and following customer shipping instructions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Quality Management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; valid driver’s license.
  • Previous inspection or quality control experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to stand continuously, lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, and perform repetitive manual tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to organize/prioritize tasks to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Associate degree/Trade School (2+ years) in Quality/Material Composition, Non-Destructive Testing, or equivalent program.
  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial or distribution environment inspecting hardware, fasteners, fabrications, machined, or electrical products.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing process evaluation.
  • Experience with ISO Quality Systems.
  • Global company experience.
  • Quality Certification.
  • Statistics training/experience.
  • Working knowledge of UL/CE/CSA/IEC/ASTM/ANSI and other global regulatory codes.
