The Quality Inspector plays a key role in auditing DWT’s processes and procedures that directly impact field operations, including Operations and Maintenance, EHS, Accounting and Finance, Training, Tool Calibration, Human Resources, Document Control, Records Management, and Procurement. This role enforces DWT’s policies, collaborates with leadership to foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensures customer focus and compliance across all operations.

Responsibilities

• Work with DWT’s field teams to ensure correct operations and maintenance of wind turbines under DWT’s care.
• Serve as a key interface between departments to ensure operational and supporting processes related to field execution are in place and functioning with the required level of quality assurance.
• Perform quality control, performance audits, and other quality-related activities in support of the company’s Quality Assurance Program.
• Support turbine optimization and data analysis initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement by embedding with teams during maintenance, troubleshooting, and major component replacements to gather feedback.
• Provide internal communication regarding compliance issues and applicable regulation changes.
• Lead field audits and audits of key company processes.
• Track incident resolution and other QA-related information in the company’s online incident management system.
• Create gap analyses for new or changed procedures and processes.
• Assist with incident investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Work with audited departments to resolve compliance issues, provide recommendations, and communicate the status of action resolution.
• Assist sites with proper records management and document control.
• Ensure implementation of all incident preventive actions at sites.
• Perform root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
• Support the takeover of new wind farms to DWT.
• Work with Operations staff to ensure customer contractual obligations and performance expectations are met.
• Interface with operations and customer quality representatives to address quality control issues and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
• Perform technical writing and reviews as required.
• Document and record information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
• Monitor processes, materials, or surroundings to detect or assess problems.
• Communicate with supervisors, peers, or subordinates via telephone, written form, email, or in person.
• Identify objects, actions, and events by categorizing, estimating, and recognizing differences or similarities.
• Assess the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
• Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards, laws, regulations, or policies.
• Establish and maintain constructive, cooperative working relationships with others.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in quality or a related field is a plus.
• 5 years of experience in a similar role or a combination of knowledge and experience in Operations and Quality systems application.
• Background in LEAN methods, tools, and implementation.
• Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
• Strong writing and presentation skills.
• Good photography skills.
• Ability to climb wind turbines and work at height when necessary.
• Valid driver’s license for state of residency.
• Valid US Passport or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to travel 60-70% (3 to 4 nights a week) in support of DWT projects, with most weekends at home. International travel may be required.
