Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the manufacturing process, raw materials, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards, drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Review images and make pass/reject judgments. Check mechanical dimensions.
- Inspect final assembly aspects such as finishing, labelling, electric output, and packaging methods.
- Conduct cosmetic, functional inspections on finished goods and raw materials.
- Monitor daily inspection activities and maintain accurate quality records in the computer system.
- Communicate inspection results and issues to staff and collaborate with departments like Production and Maintenance to implement immediate containment actions.
- Affiliate in troubleshooting issues related to machines, materials, processes, and operators.
- Ensure compliance with product quality standards, follow work instructions and procedures, and help ensure production meets schedules and delivery requirements.
- Use and maintain quality control equipment and tools, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly.
- Comply with team goals and objectives, and foster positive staff relationships.
- Adhere and be familiar with the company’s quality and health, environmental, safety policies, as well as environmental factors and management programs relevant to this position.
- Support ISO 9001 activities and customer onsite inspections/audits.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Quality Manager or Supervisor to support the overall quality objectives of the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work continental shifts.
- 1-2 years of previous working experience in quality control or a related position within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and inspection methodologies; ability to read drawings and specifications preferred.
- Ability to use measurement tools and testing equipment.
- Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
- Computer literacy; experience with enterprise ERP systems or other software and email is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
- Existing knowledge of ISO 9001 standards; attention to quality and detail preferred.
Working Conditions
- Environment: The role is based in a manufacturing facility. Workers will be in areas with machinery, equipment, and potentially moderate noise levels typical of a solar cell production setting. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
- Physical Demands: The job may involve standing for extended periods, occasional lifting of moderate - weight items (in line with safety guidelines), and moving between different workstations within the facility.
- Shift Work: This position requires the ability to work continental shifts, which include day, evening, and night shifts on a rotating basis to support continuous manufacturing operations.
