About the role

BRINC is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure that every product we ship meets the rigorous quality standards our customers need as they utilize our drones to complete life-saving missions every day. As a Quality Inspector you will be responsible for performing in-process inspection as well as final inspection for all BRINC products.

Responsibilities

  • Use metrology equipment to ensure product performance for highly-complex hardware, including PCBAs, optics, harnessing, soldering, mechanical fastening, adhesives, etc.
  • Report non-conformances when defective material is found and establish a process for containing all suspect material.
  • Read/interpret work instructions and drawings to define and perform quality inspections.
  • Perform critical in-process and final inspections for assembled products and subassemblies, including optics, PCBAs, precision machined components, and composite components.
  • Develop SOPs for other inspectors (or technicians) to follow for day-to-day tasks.
  • Support Material Review Board discussions to determine product dispositions for nonconforming material.
  • Partner with manufacturing technicians to implement sustainable corrective actions when defects are root caused.

Qualifications

  • 2+ Years as a technician in the aerospace, defence or medical industry
  • 2+ years of experience reading/interpreting work instructions, engineering drawings, and/or inspection plans
  • 2+ years of experience using hand tools
  • 2+ years of experience using calibrated tools, i.e. height gauges, calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Skills

  • Associate’s Degree or higher
  • 2+ Years as a quality inspector
  • Understanding of SCAR and Nonconformance reports (NCR)
  • Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) activities
  • ASQ Quality Inspector certification or similar
  • Certified inspector to IPC-610
  • Certified inspector to IPC-620
  • Familiar with automated inspection equipment, including Romer arms, comparators, CMMs, and other metrology software based inspection methods
