POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector performs basic to moderately complex quality inspections on incoming parts and products both within and at the end of the manufacturing process including recording, tracking, and reporting the results of the inspections and helping to implement corrective actions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs inspections on incoming parts and completed products, to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Participates in MRB activities by collaborating with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to evaluate product discrepancies and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Reviews of quality records. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records and data sheets on in-process and end-of-line inspection failures.
- Performs first article inspections on products parts and maintains part first article records.
- Reports results in a clear format on a regular basis.
- Aids in identifying root cause and developing corrective actions, co-owns the implementation of corrective actions for defective parts.
- Reports quality issues to production supervisor or lead and maintains confidentiality.
- Controls and maintains calibrated measurement and test equipment (e.g., torque tools, vernier calipers, micrometers), ensuring calibration compliance and accuracy.
- Might assist in training others.
- Might assist in documentation updates.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Location: Vancouver, Washington
- Environment: Manufacturing facility
- Physical Requirements: 60% sitting, 20% walking, 20% standing, lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to interpret procedures and determine if non-conformities exist
- Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices
- Knowledge and understanding of quality standards, specifications and technical drawings and apply them when evaluating product
- Familiarity with IPC610
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook and Excel
- SAP experience a plus
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Ability to work overtime as needed
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one year of experience performing inspection activities in an electronics manufacturing environment, including the inspection of electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume, pull-based manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating and utilizing optical Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment for dimensional inspection and verification.
- Experience inspecting printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) in accordance with IPC standards and industry quality requirements.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- ASQ, CMI, CQA Certifications preferred
COMPENSATION
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $24.00 per hour to $27.00 per hour.
