About the role

We are currently searching for an experienced and highly analytical Quality Inspector to join our department. As the Quality Inspector, you will uphold the safety regulations of our company and supervise the production/Fabrication process to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular quality assessments on incoming materials from vendors when required.
  • Approves finished products by verifying it conforms to the specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work and confirming re-work.
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
  • Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
  • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications.
  • Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • Resolve quality-related issues promptly.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures, and complying with legal requirements.
  • Recording inspection data on the appropriate ACSI Inspection forms/documents including documentation of the Non-conforming process, product, and services (should it be needed).

Requirements

  • One to two years' quality inspection experience (Preferred but not required)
  • A High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • English Communication Skills - Written, Verbal, Interpersonal, and Phone
  • Ability to think analytically, with a focus on quality and detail
  • A flexible and strong team player that can work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be computer literate (Word, Excel)
  • Read & Understand: tape measure, calipers, Engineering Drawings, weld symbols, and general shop testing equipment
  • Visual weld inspection a plus but not required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge: Quality inspection, reading blueprints, plans, and specifications
  • Skills: Analytical thinking, communication, teamwork, computer literacy, physical demands (sitting, standing, walking)

Schedule

  • Hrs: 8-per day
  • Week: 40 hrs. per week
  • Lunch: 1/2 hour
  • Over time as required

Physical Demands

  • Sitting: 5% of the time
  • Standing & Walking: 95% of the time

  • Weather: Hot & Cold
  • Outside and Plant environment
  • Plant is not A/C
  • Dust

  • Ability to perform work according to routine, while maintaining standards of performance.
  • Proper operation of equipment.
  • Proper discharge of duties by the inspector will be measured, in part, by the degree of efficiency of performance, as measured through visual observation and periodic verification.
