ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform inspection and testing on parts received from external suppliers, in-line inspections in the manufacturing area, and outgoing inspections for product shipments.
- Follow Control Plans/Quality Inspection Plans to determine process/product conformance.
- Review non-conforming materials from value streams and document applicable information concerning the non-conformance on CAREL documentation.
- Absorb products returned to CAREL on return material authorizations.
- Assist with processing of products returned to CAREL on return material authorizations.
- Generate inspection records, product statuses, and summarize data.
- Be fluent in computer software programs such as MS Word and Excel.
- Works with Assembly Operators and Manufacturing Engineers to affirm process controls are being adequately followed.
- Familiarity with and ability to utilize various types of measuring and test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Verifies all required documentation.
- Completes documentation of defects through data entry into company software platforms.
- Submits products to source and/or customer inspectors as required.
- Assists in keeping the quality department compliant to ISO9001.
- Reviews and reads drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to understand quality requirements of manufactured products.
Qualifications/Requirements
- High School education with 3 years technical experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience reading drawings, specifications and other technical documentation.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Basic Math skills.
- Some statistics a plus.
Physical Demands
- Regularly sit or stand, reach, bend and move about.
- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
Work Environment
- Work environments include, but are not limited to Carel’s labs and manufacturing facilities, regional, national or international office, car, or airline flights.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
