Responsibilities

Quality Inspectors perform inspection duties throughout the facility, which include verifying attributes for welds, structures and components.

• Train in Quality Control systems, Electric Boat procedures applicable to the work performed and Quality Department Instructions.
• Maintain MT, PT, or ET certification.
• May be required to perform inspections in disciplines such as UT, Pre-Test, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.
• Embody Electric Boat's Core Values, work safely, be responsible for themselves, their peers, the ship and crew who will operate our vessel.
• Perform with integrity and purpose.
• Ensure excellence in workmanship and first-time quality.
• Be the last line of defense for the integrity of our product.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent OR 2 plus years of related technical experience.
• Able to obtain an MT, PT, or ET certification.
• Able to attain a key department qualification/certification within the first six months after starting as Quality Inspector.
• Able to grind joints and clear indications as needed throughout inspection process.
• Able to read and interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints and diagrams.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Able to work at heights, tightly confined spaces and in extreme weather conditions.
• Able to accurately document, record keeping and archiving along with verifying previous status of work for completion.
• Possess your own basic hand tools.
• Able to work all shifts, extended week days and weekends as required.
