Quality Inspection Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Conduct employee reviews, process vacation slips, and document disciplinary actions.
• Train and review job requirements with QC team members.
• Review shipping dates and estimated hours; hold team members accountable for meeting deadlines.
• Produce well-organized, concise reports in a timely manner.
• Verify all required inspections are complete and documentation is accumulated.
• Provide guidance, direction, and training to other inspectors as directed by the QC manager.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and PETERSEN personnel.
• Apply all codes, standards, and specifications imposed on PETERSEN INC.
• Provide safety equipment and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High School Education or GED preferred.
• Three years of field experience.
• Familiarity with fabrication, precision dimensional inspection methods, and NDT.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Computer literacy.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions.
• Ability to motivate people, foster teamwork, and enforce personnel policies positively.
• Strong communication skills across all levels of personnel and management.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships of trust and unity with team members, customers, and management.
• Problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong advocacy for the company’s vision and mission statements.

• Ability to work under stressful conditions or irregular hours.

• Commitment to high safety standards and compliance with all safety laws and employer policies.
• Willingness to report safety violations and potential safety violations to management.

• Ultrasonic thickness gage
• Precision square
• Hardness tester
• Paint thickness gage
• Micro-Hite
• Angle plates
• Thread gages
• Thread wires
• Inside and Outside micrometers
• Profilometer

Availability

• Maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by the employer.
• Available and willing to work overtime as needed.
• Available and willing to travel as required by business needs.

Working Conditions

• Works in a typical fabrication and machine shop environment.
• Varied conditions, including outside and inside facility work due to product size and complexity.

• Motivate and supervise people.

• Document employee actions, including disciplinary actions and time records.
