Quality Improvement Practitioner

About the role

An exciting opportunity to join the Quality Improvement (QI) Team within NMAHP, supporting delivery of an ambitious and evolving workplan across NHS Highland and the Health and Social Care Partnership. The postholder will contribute to a wide range of improvement activity, including delivery of QI training, supporting frontline teams to design and implement improvement projects, and contributing to key national programmes such as the Scottish Patient Safety Programme and Excellence in Care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver QI training and coach staff in QI methodology.
• Support frontline teams to design and implement improvement projects.
• Analyse, interpret, and present data for quality improvement and assurance, using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and run charts.
• Translate data into meaningful insights to support decision-making and drive sustainable improvement in practice.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to foster a culture of quality and safety.
• Travel within the NHS Highland board area and to national meetings across Scotland as required.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in quality improvement, including delivering training and coaching.
• Strong ability to analyse, interpret, and present data for quality improvement.
• Practical experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and run charts.
• A relevant QI qualification.
• Experience working within a healthcare setting.

Schedule

• Work base: Assynt House, Inverness.
• Attend team meetings in Inverness every other week.
• Home working or flexible working from other NHS locations may be supported where possible.
