About the Role
This role focuses on driving patient safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate teams in patient safety initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis and utilize risk assessment tools and methodologies.
- Lead safety committees and initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive change and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Analyze data to identify trends and improve patient safety outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with frontline staff and senior leadership in a psychologically safe manner.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, CMS).
- Exercise discretion in managing sensitive information, including patient records, employee data, and strategic plans.
- Safeguard sensitive information in accordance with organizational policies and data protection laws.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration, public health, nursing, or other relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in patient safety, quality, regulatory, and/or risk within a healthcare setting.
- Thorough knowledge of patient safety reporting systems and adverse event management.
- Leadership experience in committees or work teams.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, CMS) and their impact on patient safety.
- In-depth knowledge of patient safety principles, regulatory guidelines, and best practices.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to build and maintain a climate of trust and inspire commitment to a culture of safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Certification in patient safety, risk management, or quality improvement (e.g., Certified Professional in Patient Safety).
