Quality Gage Crib Calibration Technician

Specific Responsibilities

• Operate 3 Vacuum furnaces, including equiax, D.S., and single crystal.
• Accurately record all necessary information related to furnace operations.
• Operate furnace to produce quality products within specified parameters.
• Ram crucibles on all furnaces, change over on D.S. susceptors/coils and melt coils.
• Maintain furnaces by performing specified PMs and cleaning furnace chambers for optimum performance.
• Unload preheat furnaces and load crucibles as needed.
• Interpret and perform all duties according to PES’s, OI, and special lot instructions.
• Record daily work performed and distribute work time using operational codes.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating appropriately.
• Follow all safety rules and suggestions for improving foundry functions and procedures.
• Operate a forklift.
• Understand and comply with 6S requirements and departmental safety requirements.
• Train workers and encourage team skills.
• Aid in decision-making for furnace operation under questionable conditions.
• Lead preheat operators.
• Exhibit initiative to meet plant and departmental goals for cost, safety, quality, and delivery.

Requirements

• High school education.
• One month basic OJT and three months training technique.
• Normal initiative and ingenuity.
• Maintain work area to meet department standards.
• Verbal and written communication skills within the department (maintenance, erg, etc.).
• Normal effort required.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds approximately 5 times per hour.
• Willingness to work daily and weekend overtime as necessary.
