About the Role
The Quality Engineering Manager oversees Royal's team of Quality Engineers and is responsible for materials and processes (M&P), internal and external audits, and leading new project onboarding by capturing quality requirements for facilities, equipment, and products.
Responsibilities
- Lead new project onboarding by defining quality requirements for facilities, equipment, and products.
- Plan, review, and implement contracts, dispositions, specifications, and processes.
- Represent Quality in the onboarding of new manufacturing programs.
- Create and maintain report templates based on customer specifications.
- Identify test methods and train internal personnel on proper procedures and reporting.
- Understand and apply customer specifications and requirements.
- Conduct internal audit activities, including shop floor verification and work instruction audits.
- Participate in external customer and industry-related audits.
- Write or revise quality documents.
- Engage directly with auditors on-site.
- Audit and approve vendors/suppliers.
- Research quality requirements for upcoming jobs.
- Support continuous improvement efforts with Manufacturing Engineering and Production.
- Lead and manage implementation plans for Quality, including training and specialty skill development.
- Review and approve Engineering planning to ensure Quality requirements are met.
- Travel by vehicle and airplane for auditing purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of internal or external auditing experience.
- Minimum 1 year of Quality Product Review experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Quality Requirements (GD&T).
- Proficiency in common office software systems.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; candidates must be a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 (US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
