Quality Engineering Leader - Plant 3

Responsibilities

The Quality Engineering Leader resides in Whitehall Plant 3 and reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. The Quality Leader provides Howmet Aerospace, Whitehall Casting with a quality focus in all of their employees through a commitment to comply with all internal and external requirements.

• Improvement and change—creates an additive learning environment; shares and disseminates knowledge; measures improvement quantitatively; drives positive change and adapts to unforeseen elements; prioritizes requests as they arrive
• Translator—helps quality engineers understand management and customer priorities; supports plant-wide initiatives and implements with team
• Courage—willing to hold parts or stop processes; safeguards customer interests and company reputation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of five years of quality related experience
• Minimum of one year of leadership experience

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or in a technical related field
• Aerospace investment casting quality/engineering/manufacturing experience
• Familiarity with turbine engine components
• Working knowledge of quality systems and requirements and how they relate to business (i.e. AS9100, NADCAP)
• Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
• Experience leading/supporting the implementation of initiatives necessary to improve product quality and delivery
• Experience conducting performance appraisals of direct reports
• Ability to effectively communicate & present information to all levels of the organization – shop floor, direct reports, and management
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Experience using and training in the following quality tools – root cause analysis and problem solving, FMEA, control plans, PPAP, APQP, System audits, SPC
• Strong computer skills
