About the role

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Mid-level, Senior or Lead) to join our team located in Hazelwood, MO!

Responsibilities

  • Level 3: Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Level 3: Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Level 3: Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Level 3: Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
  • Level 3: Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Level 3: Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Level 3: Performs material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Level 3: Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Level 3: Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Level 3: Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Level 4: Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Level 4: Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
  • Level 4: Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Level 4: Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.
  • Level 4: Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Level 4: Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Level 4: Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.
  • Level 4: Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Level 4: Develops and implements corrective actions.
  • Level 4: Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Level 5: Advises others in the preparation of significant bids and proposals.
  • Level 5: Authors Quality plans for major programs.
  • Level 5: Advises suppliers and business partners in the development of their Quality plans to ensure the flowdown of requirements.
  • Level 5: Consults at the business unit level to develop Quality criteria for supplier selection.
  • Level 5: Oversees the development of methods, procedures and metrics to ensure quality standards and practices for large programs and derivatives.
  • Level 5: Leads verification reviews to ensure adequate surveillance to validate product and process Quality requirements.
  • Level 5: Develops new methods for conducting product and process validation.
  • Level 5: Represents Quality in design reviews of the inter-relationship of multiple systems.
  • Level 5: Advises on development of methods for testing and approval of products, processes, equipment and measurement systems to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Level 5: Leads cross-functional continuous Quality improvement efforts.
  • Level 5: Develops new applications for advanced statistical methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 3+ years of experience with quality Inspection and/or auditing
  • 3+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
  • 3+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes
  • Level 4: 4+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Level 4: 4+ years of experience with quality Inspection and/or auditing
  • Level 4: 4+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
  • Level 4: 4+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes
  • Level 5: 5+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Level 5: 5+ years of experience with quality Inspection and/or auditing
  • Level 5: 5+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
  • Level 5: 5+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 4: 4+ years of experience with FAI
  • Level 4: 5+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • Level 4: 5+ years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation
  • Level 5: 5+ years of experience with FAI
  • Level 5: 5+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • Level 5: 5+ years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation

Benefits

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Pay

The specific pay range for this position is as follows:

  • Level 3 (Mid-level): USD $100,300 - $135,700
  • Level 4 (Senior): USD $122,000 - $165,600
  • Level 5 (Lead): USD $149,600 - $202,400

Travel

This position may require up to 10% travel.

Shift

This position is for 1st shift.
