Senior Lead Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineering team partners with other Technology Functions and the Business to ensure high-quality delivery of products. Operating in a SAFE Agile environment across global locations, the team drives decisions independently and focuses on improving customer experience, revenue growth, and operations enablement by rapidly developing high-quality products.
Impact
As an SDET, you will contribute to building solutions that test applications across Web, Windows, Mobile, API, Services, and Mobile platforms, and design efficient data comparison methods. Your work will help reduce time to market without compromising quality through automation and innovation. You will leverage a wide range of technologies and collaborate with internal teams to deliver robust testing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Operate independently within an agile team and advocate for software testing best practices.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test summaries to ensure thorough coverage of software functionalities, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—developers, product managers, and business analysts—to understand requirements, identify test scenarios, and align with business objectives.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using strong technical expertise in automation tools and technologies to support continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Perform manual testing of web-based and API-based applications, focusing on complex scenarios and edge cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues, defects, and discrepancies, documenting and tracking them to resolution using issue tracking systems.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries for data validation and verification.
- Provide technical support and guidance to stakeholders regarding QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating relevant knowledge into QA practices.
- Utilize AI to accelerate test case development and maintenance.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in complete software testing activities.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
- Strong technical proficiency in automation tools and technologies such as Java, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, and Python.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL for data manipulation, querying, and validation.
- Experience with API-based testing tools such as Postman and RestAssured.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Experience supporting test strategy activities, particularly in integrating multiple applications and systems.
- Demonstrated skill in proactively resolving issues and escalating appropriately.
- Experience testing web-based and API-based systems for user experience issues.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Demonstrate AI fluency by leveraging AI-powered tools and Agentic AI/GenAI assistants to improve test design, test automation, defect analysis, root cause investigation, and overall QE productivity.
- Experience with Index/Benchmarks or Asset Management or Portfolio Investment modeling is preferred.
- Experience with Market Data such as Equity, Commodity, Forex, or Options asset classes is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Pay
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
