About the role
The Quality Engineer III plays a crucial role in driving product, process, and supplier quality improvements across manufacturing operations. This position applies advanced quality engineering principles, statistical analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and Quality Management System (QMS) expertise to enhance product reliability, reduce variation, ensure compliance with ISO standards, and support supplier quality performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead root cause investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, and structured problem solving.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, defects, process variation, and opportunities for improvement.
- Apply statistical tools including SPC, Cp/Cpk studies, hypothesis testing, control charts, and capability analysis to drive data-based decision making.
- Develop and maintain process control plans, inspection methods, testing procedures, and quality documentation.
- Lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities to identify risks and establish effective controls.
- Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R studies to ensure measurement system effectiveness.
- Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product performance.
- Troubleshoot production-related quality issues and partner with operations to implement sustainable solutions.
- Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, defect analysis, and disposition processes.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing quality performance, trends, and improvement initiatives.
- Lead and support Six Sigma and continuous improvement projects focused on reducing waste, variation, and cost.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, statistical analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with: Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), SPC and Capability Analysis (Cp/Cpk), PFMEA and Control Plans, PPAP and Supplier Quality Management, MSA and Gage R&R, 8D Problem Solving, Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Quality Management Systems.
- Experience conducting ISO 9001:2015 internal audits and supporting external audits.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
- Strong communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or equivalent certification.
- Licensed as a Certified ISO 9001:2015 supplier audits and supplier development initiatives.
- Experience with DOE, ANOVA, and advanced statistical methods.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
