About the role
As the Quality Engineer II - CONTRACTOR, you will lead and support manufacturing and engineering quality-related issues, customer return defect analysis processes, and root cause investigations.
Responsibilities
- Provide initial hardware/software (HW/SW) analysis, including diagnostic trouble codes, bench test confirmation, log capture, and PCB component-level investigations on suspect issues.
- Conduct warranty claims analysis and quality data analytics to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Report quality status to internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Conduct and coordinate in-vehicle testing and detailed in-depth analysis, including supporting customer dealership visits and investigations.
- Ensure timely and compliant submission of customer-required documentation.
- Support and coordinate responses to emerging quality issues, including containment and tracking.
- Support day-to-day quality and inspection activities at a local inspection facility to verify product quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of working experience in automotive electronics, including hands-on PCB analysis, ECU testing, and system-level integration.
- Bilingual in both Korean and English.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical knowledge in automotive electronics quality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office at an advanced level).
- Knowledge of statistics/problem-solving tools: Minitab, PowerBI, Six Sigma, 8D, 5-Why problem solving, and root cause analysis within a quality environment.
- Up to approximately 30% travel (domestic and international) as required by project needs, including frequent local travel between Aliso Viejo, Irvine, and Fountain Valley.
- Ability to lift equipment up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Pay
Recruiting range: $70,725—$94,300 USD.
