About the role
Develops and maintains quality methodologies, systems, and practices to meet the Customer’s needs. Supports quality engineering tasks throughout the life cycle of programs, including product design reviews, development of inspection and test plans, determination of customer approval needs, support for scrap and rework reduction efforts, and handling of customer corrective action requests.
Responsibilities
- Analyze failures and initiate corrective actions.
- Act as liaison with customers.
- Participate and/or lead root cause analysis activities for production and warranty failures.
- Participate in risk reduction activities including warranty-related issues.
- Lead continuous improvement activities.
- Develop/support APQP activities (Line Readiness, Poke-Yoke Development, Rabbit development, Document development/Validation preparation).
- Develop and implement quality control methodologies to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and guidelines.
- Coordinate/lead defect reduction activities.
- Compile and submit PPAP/ISIR packages as required by customer.
- Participate in the review of Standard Work and all affiliated documents (including component-related documents).
- Support 6S initiatives.
- Provide production floor support.
- Break point and ECO coordination/support (ECR submission, PPAP, PTR, 4M Change, BOM to drawing verification).
- Manage RMA process.
- PFMEA and Control Plan development and upkeep.
- Perform other duties as directed by Quality Manager.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- 1+ year of experience in a quality-related background.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation preferred.
- Certification or degree in interpretation or translation fields preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of quality systems and procedures.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently.
- Thorough knowledge of APQP and customer PPAP requirements.
- Ability to lead and direct quality initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to identify and address quality issues effectively.
