About the role
Precision Custom Components (PCC) is seeking a Quality Engineer II to join our team. This is an on-site position reporting to our manufacturing facility in York, PA. The Quality Engineer II will be part of a skilled team delivering high-quality, made-to-spec components where precision, reliability, and customer focus matter.
Responsibilities
- Review/accept technical contract package for proper incorporation of requirements.
- Review proposal work scope, drawings, and contract requirements for quality assurance requirements and manufacturability.
- Implement the contract quality requirements through the incorporation of pass down requirements in purchase orders.
- Verify Hold Points/Source Inspection activities are incorporated/planned.
- Prepare supplier inspection plans.
- Plan/perform supplier source inspection/surveillance activities.
- Monitor supplier performance/compliance and develop improvement action strategy.
- Verify manufacturing planning meets contract drawing/specification requirements.
- Implement planned controls of in-process/final quality.
- Aid in the resolution of inspection problems related to process planning instructions.
- Evaluate and develop alternate manufacturing and/or inspection methods and make recommendations for improvements.
- Cook conduct evaluations of quality capabilities, processes and measuring equipment through process or machine capability studies and evaluation of results.
- Identify causes of systemic manufacturing problems through statistical analysis providing corrective action/improvement recommendations.
- Coordinate implementation of recommended actions.
- Develop statistical methodology for the evaluation and control of product or process quality.
- Administer data handling methods and ensure the completeness, clarity, distribution and retention of quality data and records.
- Prepare quality reports and coordinate associated meetings.
- Lead internal quality program surveillances and audits.
- Analyze audit data and advise appropriate personnel when negative performance trends are identified. Follow-up to ensure that effective corrective action has been taken.
- Develop planning and methods for the timely preparation of history books and resolve technical issues associated with this documentation.
- Evaluate and provide disposition/response to customer trouble records.
- Attend critical meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Interface/coordinate resolution with the customer regarding quality issues related to the orders to which the Quality Engineer is assigned.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures in accordance with ASME B&PV Code/NQA-1, and 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B.
Additional Quality Engineer II Requirements Specific to This Opening
- Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with ASME B&PV Code and nuclear regulatory standards and contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to qualify and monitor suppliers of safety-related materials and services.
- Develop planning to ensure complete and accurate documentation of quality records, inspection reports, and material certifications.
- Interface with customers and ASME/NRC/DOE and other regulatory bodies during inspection and auditing activities.
Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering, preferably in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- Five to ten years industrial experience including work in a quality engineering or reliability function or demonstrated successful experience as a Quality Engineer for the equivalent time.
Qualifications
- The individual must have the ability to work constructively and effectively with others in order to obtain overall effective and practical results.
- The individual must have the ability to conceive, plan and direct activities on complex technical projects.
- The individual must possess a high degree of self-motivation and a minimal need for direction in the performance of assigned duties.
- Membership in appropriate technical or professional societies is expected.
Skills
- Excellent computer skills required.
- A working knowledge of ERP systems.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

Pay
$85,000 - $105,000 per year
