About the role
We are looking for a Quality Engineer for our Hingham, MA facility. This position will contribute to the solution of the world's growing need for dependable critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Drive quality control and assurance in our assembly and manufacturing process.
- Develop and improve FMEA and control plans for manufacturing processes.
- Implement tools and controls to improve first pass yield.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues with cross-functional teams.
- Support production by making quality-related decisions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the engineering and operations departments to improve product design and manufacturability.
- Drive cross-functional teams to improve Cost of Quality, FPY and Warranty costs.
Requirements
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in a quality, engineering, or manufacturing related role
- Understanding of quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC), ISO 9001 standards, and production process verification
- Problem-solving skills with experience applying 8D methodology, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, and SAP (or similar ERP system)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma and ASQ Certification preferred
- Black belt is a plus
- Experience with automatic transfer switch equipment and industrial power control systems
