Quality Engineer
About the role
We are currently looking for a Quality Engineer to be based out of Wayne, MI. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, this person will be responsible for meeting all customer expectations regarding delivery and quality through implementation, training, and adherence of corporate and plant quality procedures. This person will apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and product quality, lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation on both internal and external quality concerns and ensure that quality procedures are available to support standardization and sustainability of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Support the manufacturing operation through product inspections, product testing, data analysis, and customer-required documentation.
- Perform technical testing using 3D Scanners, Tensile Strength Machines, and Hardness Testing equipment.
- Oversee the special projects, including the upscaling of the Quality Program, documentation, Certificate of conformance and material testing.
- Work closely with production leadership to ensure all processes are accurately documented and updated properly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field or 2+ years' relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment, with metal stamping experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and practical application of common inspection gages, product drawings, and problem solving and process improvement tools and techniques.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, ERP systems, and structured Quality Programs preferred.
Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

- Technical proficiency in product inspections and testing.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action teams.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and ERP systems.

Pay
A good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $63,440 - $87,230. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time.
