Description In This Role

  • Analyze quality trends and recommend improvements to help reduce Cost of Quality and improve yield.
  • Lead or participate on continuous improvement or corrective action teams as assigned.
  • Determine root cause of quality problems and implement effective corrective action.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to qualify and approve new processes, capital equipment and materials.
  • Prepare detailed quality plans for small-scale projects to reduce risk of producing non-conformances.
  • Provide or coordinate required project quality related deliverables, such as, PPAP’s, D/PFMEA, capability studies, statistical analysis, inspection plans, quality records, MSA, and workmanship standards.
  • Complete or assist with quality actions stemming from Design Reviews, DFMEA’s and PFMEA’s.
  • Provide training and mentoring to promote proper use and understanding of quality tools.
  • Recommend design, manufacturing or control changes to increase product performance, quality or reliability.
  • Participate on Material Review Board. Coordinate inspections or tests if necessary to determine disposition.
  • Work with suppliers on PPAP’s for new suppliers, new parts and new tools.
  • Work with suppliers on corrective actions for non-conforming parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

For This Role, You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a Technician or Engineer in a Manufacturing environment (including internship or co-op experience).
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient utilization of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 2-3 years experience as a Technician or Engineer in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in technical skills, such as, statistical analysis, FMEA, SPC and other common quality tools.
  • Experience with ERP and QMS software (JDE and EtQ preferred).
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, or Technician.
  • 6 Sigma or other Lean Manufacturing Certification.
  • ISO9000 experience.
