Quality Engineer 1

About the role

We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business. This role has primary responsibility for development and maintenance of production quality standards and documentation. You will collaborate on continuous improvement activities through problem prevention and mitigation, lead corrective actions through data analysis trending, and support external audits and the internal audit program.

Responsibilities

• Support defining quality requirements for new products and prepare/maintain necessary documentation.
• Monitor production quality performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Complete, review, and maintain quality records for compliance to the quality system.
• Support customer and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Support quality inspections and audit preparation.
• Serve as the Quality Representative within an assigned Customer Focus Team or designated functional area.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and timely resolution of Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA).
• Collaborate on moderate to moderately complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and input into valid conclusions.
• Handle routine tasks and simple investigations with guidance to prevent repeat problems and drive continual process improvement.
• Interact with Engineers, Technicians, Production Team Members, and external partners to execute on quality processes and standards.
• Participate in internal Quality and customer meetings.
• Communicate moderate to moderately complex problems and solutions clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Travel as required.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Quality or Engineering or equivalent industry and/or military experience.
• Up to 4 years’ experience in Quality or related roles.
• Electronics manufacturing service or related industry experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft (MS) Office suite, Minitab, or equivalent software.
• Experience working in quality for an organization certified to ISO standards (13485 and 9001 preferred).

Skills

• Basic knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies and quality tools (e.g., Pareto Chart, Histogram, SPC, Flowchart).
• Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, APQP, and PPAP.
• Ability to interpret assembly prints and drawings.
• Proficient English verbal and written communication.

Working Environment

• Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Requires close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Working Conditions: Generally clean environment, but may be exposed to occasional dust, metals/solder, high noise levels, or physical hazards from moving equipment. Must wear designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or electrostatic dissipative protection where required. Office/business casual attire consistent with site-specific safety guidelines is appropriate.

Pay

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $70,000-$90,000 per year. Full-time employees are also eligible for performance-based bonuses and benefits.
