Quality Director

About the role

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Director of Quality for its Asheville Hot Section operations. This role is classified as Onsite.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic management and direction to all levels within the organization regarding product inspections and the Quality system.
• Foster a Quality culture through leadership and effective communication.
• Drive the tactical execution of the Quality Management System.
• Lead the plant Material Review Board (MRB) function.
• Direct quality and production deliverables and initiatives.
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of inspection procedures and technologies.
• Ensure product and process improvements meet quality metric goals.
• Organize, promote, and lead quality improvement efforts.
• Drive safety as a top priority.
• Chair or participate in major site committees for Environmental, Health & Safety.
• Focus on employee engagement through communication, training, teaming, management practices, and respect to foster a culture of engaged and committed employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of relevant experience; or advanced degree and 12+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, and/or Engineering with 5+ years in the aerospace industry.
• Excellent critical thinking skills to identify root causes and recommend resolutions to complex issues.

What You Will Do

As a Quality leader, you'll provide strategic management and direction to all levels within the organization regarding the planning, direction, and control of all product inspections and the organization’s overall Quality system health. You'll ensure compliance to company, customer, regulatory, and other procedures and requirements, fostering a Quality culture throughout all functions within the organization. Through leadership and effective communication, you'll drive the tactical execution of the Quality Management System, integrating and collaborating with the facility General Manager and associated leadership teams.

Qualifications We Value

• Strong product Quality experience and leadership within an aerospace prime engine contractor or a tier 1 supplier.
• Experience managing Quality Management Systems and using MRP/ERP systems.
• Solid understanding of conventional Quality related inspection, NDT/NDI, CMM, and other machine shop inspection processes and procedures.
• Understanding of Aerospace Quality requirements.
• Experience with CORE, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, or related Continuous Improvement tools and metrics.
