Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary technical lead for enterprise Epic reporting within Quality & Patient Safety, owning the design, build, and maintenance of reports and data models in Epic Clarity and Caboodle.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains SQL queries against the enterprise data warehouse to support production reporting, ad hoc analysis, and validation of clinical and operational data.
  • Buils and maintains reports in Crystal Reports and SSRS, ensuring accuracy, version control, and alignment with source system logic.
  • Designs, builds, and deploys Power BI dashboards and scorecards for clinical, operational, and executive audiences, including data model design and refresh scheduling.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager and division leadership to identify data needs, translate requirements into technical specifications, and design meaningful analyses.
  • Collects, organizes, and validates data from multiple clinical and operational sources, including electronic health records, safety event reporting systems, and external benchmarking databases.
  • PARTNERS WITH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TO OPTIMIZE DATA WAREHOUSE STRUCTURES, MANAGE EPIC BUILD GOVERNANCE, AND INTEGRATE NEW DATA SOURCES.
  • Develop analytic tools to monitor performance against national benchmarks and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • PARTNERS WITH INTERDISCIPLINARY TEAMS, INCLUDING NURSING, MEDICAL STAFF, FINANCE, AND OPERATIONS, TO DEFINE DATA NEEDS AND DELIVER ACTIONABLE INSIGHTS.
  • PROVIDES DATA AND INSIGHTS TO SUPPORT COMMITTEES, LEADERSHIP COUNCILS, AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES.
  • TRANSLATES COMPLEX TECHNICAL DATA INTO CLEAR, COMPelling NARRATIVES THAT INFORM EXECUTIVE DECISION-MAKING.
  • SERVES AS A TECHNICAL RESOURCE AND MENTOR TO OTHER QUALITY DATA ANALYST STAFF, PROVIDING GUIDANCE ON REPORT DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS AND BEST PRACTICES.
  • CONTRIBUTES TO ORGANIZATIONAL READINESS FOR REGULATORY SURVEYS AND QUALITY REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.
  • ENSURES DATA ACCURACY, INTEGRITY, AND COMPLIANCE WITH PRIVACY AND SECURITY REQUIREMENTS, INCLUDING ADHERENCE TO DATA GOVERNANCE STANDARDS FOR EPIC BUILD ACCESS.

Qualifications

  • Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, public health, health informatics, nursing, or related field.
  • Licenses/ certifications/ registrations Required: Epic Cogito Certification required or obtained within 1 year of hire. Epic Clarity and Caboodle certification, or demonstrated equivalent proficiency, required at hire or obtained within one year of hire.
  • Preferred: NA
  • Experience Required: Minimum of five years of experience in healthcare data analysis, including demonstrated experience building reports or dashboards in Epic Clarity and/or Caboodle, and hands-on experience writing SQL queries against a relational database or data warehouse.
  • Preferred: Experience with Crystal Reports or SSRS report development, Power BI dashboard design, ADW, and statistical software.
