About the Role
Aiken Regional Medical Centers, a 273-bed acute care facility in Aiken, South Carolina, is seeking a Quality Coordinator - RN. This position acts as an internal quality consultant and subject matter expert in process improvement, uncovering opportunities for improvement through data mining, analysis, and observation of care processes. The role maintains authority and accountability for data pertaining to assigned clinical outcomes and serves as a resource for clinical quality initiatives and outcomes reporting.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with areas of expertise to create and ensure clinical order sets, pathways, and protocols are initiated and revised in accordance with current evidence-based practice.
- Maintain the MIDAS database system for the hospital and create/maintain MIDAS dictionaries in collaboration with Corporate.
- Collect, compile, analyze, interpret, and report data on clinical metrics to appropriate committees and individuals to achieve compliance with organizational and department goals.
- Perform concurrent Core Measure medical record reviews and communicate with staff and physicians regarding recognized opportunities.
- Provide current evidence-based literature to apply to clinical quality programs and process improvement teams.
- Mentor and orient managers and staff on aspects of clinical quality and process improvement.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to analyze clinical information and data.
- Facilitate quality improvement initiatives that improve patient care and financial outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved nursing program; RN, BSN, or MSN preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in healthcare, preferably in an acute care hospital setting.
- Computer experience in MS Office required.
- 1-2 years leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in data entry and Microsoft Office; strong time management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with benchmarking, outcome or focus studies, AHRQ initiatives, Oryx, QNET, NHSN, and publicly reported data.
- Experience in facilitating change through interdisciplinary collaboration and OPPE, FPPE, and Reappointment reporting.
- Current SC or compact state RN license.
