Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain work records and reports of inspection results
- Audit inbound and outbound shipments for quality
- Conduct in-house inspections of incoming and existing products
- Partners with Buyers to determine if USDA inspection is required
- Coding inbound product
- Updating condition codes on current inventory
- Partnering with Sales Team, Head Foreman, Supervisors, and Warehousemen to improve quality control measures
- Notifying Sales Team and Buyer of product with quality issues in the warehouse
- Facilitating customer needs and interactions
- Maintaining product knowledge and commodity-specific knowledge
- Training and cross-training new and existing team members
- Updating operations on all pending USDA inspections and sensitive customer acknowledgments
- Coordinating with USDA Inspections
- Spot-checking inventory and updating quality codes
- Printing a daily report of all loads that came in on the previous shift
Qualifications
- Good communication skills
- Strong commodity knowledge
- Attention to detail
- Willingness and ability to train others
Physical Requirements
- Working in an open market exposed to the elements
- Walking in and out of varying temperatures in refrigerated warehouses
- Standing and moving around for 8-10 hours per shift
- Lifting up to 50 lbs multiple times a day
