QUALITY CONTROL TESTING TECHNICIAN (Seasonal)

About the role

Anchorage Sand & Gravel Co., Inc. in Alaska is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician to join their fast-paced quality control laboratory. The position involves sample and performance of laboratory and field testing on various materials including concrete, asphalt, soil, aggregate, block, and cement to ensure compliance with ASTM/ACI specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Represent Anchorage Sand & Gravel to customers and third-party agencies.
• Prepare reports as directed for internal distribution and/or specific agencies.

Requirements

• Good math, record keeping, problem-solving, and computer skills.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Willing to work 6 days a week, long hours, and early start times while maintaining a positive attitude.
• High School Diploma.
• Valid Alaska Driver’s License.
• Basic understanding of computers and Excel spreadsheets.
• ACI, NICET, NCMA, and WAQTC certification is preferred.
• Prior experience testing materials in the lab and field is valuable; however, training and certification opportunities will be provided.
• Professional and courteous attitude towards team members as well as customers and third-party agencies.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma.
• Must have a valid Alaska Driver’s License.
• Must have basic understanding of computers and Excel spreadsheets.
• Preferred certifications: AIC, NICET, NCMA, WAQTC.
• Prior experience testing materials in the lab and field is valuable; however, training and certification opportunities will be provided.
