Quality Control Technician - Precast - LaBelle, FL

Responsibilities

• Tests concrete samples to ensure compliance.
• Ensures measurements of manufactured products, steel checks, form alignment, concrete placement and post inspections.
• Makes sure product strength is determined and necessary corrective actions are taken.
• Inspects various FDOT precast products.
• Communicates findings with supervisor for corrections.
• Documents measurements and verifies calculations.
• Attends continuing education to maintain certifications.
• Ensures compliance with FDOT requirements.
• Aids with other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with concrete, precast preferred.
• ACI Concrete Field Technician 1, ACI Aggregate Technician 1, ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician, and NPCA PQS 1 are all a plus.
• Ability to read and understand FDOT and NPCA requirements for precast products to ensure compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret Casting Drawings.
• Understanding of basic geometry and able to read tape measurements accurately.
• Ability to communicate corrective measures effectively, and able to pass certification tests.
• Able to work in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate in both written and verbal formats of English at a professional business level.
• To obtain knowledge of company products, policies and procedures in a timely manner.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work a flexible schedule.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

• Must be able to coordinate or lead employees among different levels of the organization.
• Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
• May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels in facilities being managed or coordinated.
• Able to wear personal protective clothing for prolonged periods; Safety helmet with chinstrap, safety shoes, eye protection, hand protection and hearing protection (as required).
