Quality Control Technician
Description
Leidos is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support the Maritime System Division (MSD) in Long Beach, MS. MSD is an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facility aligned within the Leidos Defense Systems Sector under the Sea Systems business unit.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections of components, subassemblies and completed assemblies
- Document inspection results in manufacturing execution system
- Document nonconforming materials and coordinate material reviews and dispositions
- Support efforts to coordinate and resolve defects with suppliers
- Support the development of test procedures and inspection checklists
- Witness required testing per approved test procedures, document findings
- Review and provide input to program plans and other program documents in support of document accuracy and on-time delivery
- Support root cause analysis investigations for findings and requirement escapes
- Support the collection of Quality Metrics
Basic Qualifications
- US citizen
- High school diploma or equivalent and 3 – 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Ability to interpret written specifications and drawings
- Experience in inspecting precision machined and fabricated parts in accordance with drawing requirements and specified tolerances using micrometers and calipers
- Ability to perform visual inspections requiring excellent visual acuity
- Experience in performing quality hardware configuration verifications
- Self-starter with attention to detail / observant
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
- Experience performing electrical resistance/continuity testing using a multimeter
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in inspecting electronics assemblies in accordance with the IPC-A-610 standard
- Working knowledge of IPC-J-STD-001 requirements for soldered electrical and electronic assemblies
- Experience working in a hardware manufacturing environment
- Experience inspecting precision machined O-ring sealing surfaces
- Working knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard
- Continuous improvement experience in leading innovative changes
- Experience with Costpoint system
