Quality Control Technician

Position Overview

Responsibilities (Essential Duties And Functions)

• Collect samples from asphalt or aggregate plants.
• Perform field tests for density or other properties.
• Process samples using various testing equipment and procedures.
• Communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Record data and enter information into computer systems.
• Communicate with plant staff.
• Travel to and from various sites.
• Perform general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned.
• Routinely assist other members of the workforce in different areas of production.
• Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
• Must have valid WAQTC certifications.
• Pass physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing.
• Demonstrate good performance, safety, and attendance.
• Show proficiency in basic mathematics.
• Communicate effectively with all departments and customers on the phone and in person.
• Work independently, without direct supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50-75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock, and occasionally exposed to noise levels that are usually loud.
